The department of Oise, in northern France, is perfect for those who love the countrysideand enjoy walking and cycling, with many routes to discover close by. Visit the stunningcathedral at Amiens, one of the finest in France, with its Gothic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and in the summer months enjoy its dazzling sound and light show. Further afield you can visit Les Hortiltonnages, which you can explore in special boats known as "barques à cornet" in and the Quartier Saint-Leu d'Amiens, situated next to the cathedral, which are collectively known as the "Venice of the North". Also worth visiting are the beaches of Le Tréport or the beautiful Somme Bay with its marshlands, steam railway and pretty towns, including Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. There is a theme park near Beauvais or spend a day in the famous Chantilly with its beautiful chateau and entertainment. Gardeners will love Gerberoy, voted one of France's most beautiful villages, famous for its half-timbered cottages and flowers. You can walk the ramparts and enjoy the lovely gardens which are delightful in summer when the town's roses are in flower.

Paris is only an hour away by train from the station at Longueau, which is a 30-minute drive from the property. So a day in the capital, visiting the Eiffel Tower, Les Champs-Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the Place de la Concorde or the Petit Palais is an absolute possibility. Shops 12km. Approximate distance to Beauvais airport is 34 km.

BOOKING INFORMATION:

There is a cleaning fee of 60 euros payable in cash at the property and a 500 euros deposit.  Changeovers are on a Saturday - arrival from 4pm and leaving by 10am. Linen and towels are included and beds ready. Electricity is charged at cost, after meter reading, at the end of your stay. Water is free.
